Mixed Martial Arts Academy
THE WAY OF HOUMAN
One master. Three rings. Three black belts.
Programs
Striking, grappling, clinch, the strength work that carries them — and a course in how a young person carries themselves. Children, teens, adults and women-only classes, all taught with full attention to fundamentals.
01
Striking · Kicks · Discipline
Speed, range and precision. Footwork and kicking mechanics that build explosive athletes — and the discipline that carries into everything else you do.
02
Grappling · Ground · Leverage
The quiet art. Position before submission, leverage over strength. Learn to stay calm in the worst positions and solve them one grip at a time.
03
Striking · Clinch · Eight Limbs
The art of eight limbs. Fists, elbows, knees and shins — conditioned through pads, partner drills and clinch work that forges real toughness.
04
Women-Only · Tue & Thu Evenings
Women-only classes built around real strength: lifting, conditioning, striking fundamentals and self-defense — coached by a strength & conditioning coach for pro athletes, in a room that's yours.
05
Private 1-on-1 · By Appointment
Lose weight the fighter's way — private one-on-one sessions with Master Houman Bidarmaghz. Pads, bags, circuits and honest coaching, built around your body and your schedule.

Bearing, protocol and self-command — trained the way anything else is trained. One law a week, drilled on the mat and carried home on a conduct card. No uniform, no belt, no martial-arts experience needed.

One master. One academy. Three fight teams.
Two cities. One way.
The three rings in our mark are not decoration — they are three black belts, earned over forty years on the mat:
Master Houman Bidarmaghz is also a certified Muay Thai instructor and a strength & conditioning coach for professional athletes. From first-day beginners to competitors, everyone walks the same floor and bows to the same standard: show up, work hard, leave better.
One School · Three Championship Teams
480 gold medals won by our teams across multiple disciplines over twenty years.
The Lineage
Four lines of teaching, each granted by someone, braided into the one belt he ties on every morning — and taught on this floor every day.
Every master was once the student on the floor. Respect is how knowledge is passed.
Weekly Schedule
Children, teens, adults and women-only classes, six days a week. Not sure where you fit? Book a first visit and Master Houman Bidarmaghz will place you.

The Standard
A belt is only worth what stands behind it. Ours are issued to the standards of the two bodies that govern these arts worldwide — so a grade earned on this floor is recognised off it.
Master Houman Bidarmaghz · 5th degree black belt
Kukkiwon is the world headquarters of Taekwondo and the body that certifies dan rank globally; World Taekwondo governs the sport, including the Olympic Games. Our colour grades follow the geup ladder, and dan promotions observe Kukkiwon’s waiting periods — the wait to your next dan is the dan you already hold.
Master Houman Bidarmaghz · Black belt
The IBJJF sets the graduation system used by the sport’s major competitions. We follow it exactly: the children’s belts to green, the adult belts from white, and the federation’s minimum time at each — two years at blue, eighteen months at purple, a year at brown. Nobody here is promoted early.
Grading is never automatic. A student must put the classes in, serve the minimum time at their grade, and satisfy the master on the day — and the app on their phone shows them exactly where they stand on all three.
SHOW UP. WORK HARD. LEAVE BETTER.
From first-day beginners to competitors, everyone walks the same floor and bows to the same standard. Nothing is graded on ego, and no belt is handed out to keep anyone happy.
Memberships
Every black belt started white. One price for the year, and two ways to pay it — settle it up front and pay less, or split it over months with Afterpay. No monthly subscription, nothing that renews behind your back.
OR TRAIN AT YOUR OWN PACE.
The Hobbyist packs. Lessons you use when you can, across any program on the schedule — find your favourite style, or do all of them. No plan, no renewal. Each pack runs for three months from your first class.
Lessons are used in any class on the timetable and expire three months after your first class. Move onto a year-long plan while a pack is still running and the lessons you have not used come off the price. To arrange your times, call the academy on (718) 640-7725.
New course MANNERS Bearing · Protocol · Self-commandEight weeks, one law a week, for ages 5–12. Manners trained the way anything else is trained — on their feet, drilled, corrected and repeated until they belong to the child rather than to you. No uniform, no belt, no martial-arts experience needed.
